ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jani (pronounced Yarni) is a self-taught combined-media artist based near Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Southeast Queensland.

He has had a life-long love of photography and now indulges himself by creating combined/mixed-media art for his own pleasure (and the occasional commission) and if others like what he creates enough to pay for it, it's a lucky accident.

His art goes beyond photography's traditional form towards innovative ways of using the medium to extend its vocabulary. Armed with his camera, scanner, graphics tablet and computer he is able to combine a creative splash of photography with a dash of science and take a moment in time and lift it up out of the ordinary, making possible flights of pure inspiration.
